The practice of astrology stretches far back into human history and is universal across human civilizations. Almost every culture had their own myths and methodologies for gazing up at the heavens and asking themselves how they reflect life on earth. But is this way of practicing astrology still relevant? How do we, as modern people, connect to this ancient wisdom and bring it forward into our daily lives? At its heart, astrology describes the transfer of light from one state to another and I’ll be investigating this concept in two sessions. The first will explore the ancient art of astrology and how the cosmos is reflected in the cycles of the year, and the second will offer a framework for how we can use this knowledge to deepen our understanding of our own charts and our karma.
I've been practicing astrology for three years, with a focus on the philosophical and archetypal dimensions that were widely understood and applied by ancient astrologers. Astrology is a language, and I've always been interested in finding ways to make it accessible for students and clients. Last year I published a book, The Astrology Dictionary: A Simple Companion, that defines some common terms and phrases used by astrologers of various disciplines. My website is currently unavailable (it's being redone) but you can find me on Instagram at @meghansandor. I also love to sew, and I make historical clothing by hand!
